General Information for Continuing Education Course

  

This is a correspondence study course.  All text materials will be posted online, downloaded or emailed to the registered student.      

 

Students may go to the DRE web site at www.dre.ca.gov to learn the most recent examination and license information. The web site has a menu on the top of the home page. Examination information can be found by clicking on “Exams”.  License information can be found by clicking on “Licensees”. If you take the time to click and read all of the topics in these two sections, most of your examination and licensing questions should be answered.

 

The registration form is legally binding when signed by the student and accepted by our institution. Course enrollment is good for 365 days from the date of your registration. You must pass the final exam within one year.

 

Fees are refundable if requested by writing and made prior to the first instruction day of the course or sent by the 8th business day after the first day course material is received in correspondence course. All payments will be made within 30 days of student withdrawal. 

 

An optional Course and Instructor Evaluation is available by accessing the website, www.dre.ca.gov, and then selecting the “Course & Instructor Evaluation” form (DE Form 318A).

 

     Prior to registration, student may access the general information online or by picking it up at our office. It can also be sent to the interested student through mail, fax or email.

Course Outline

 

Each participant will be provided with a written course outline which will include: the list and explanation of topics to be covered, the time allotted for each major section or chapter and a quiz used to assess the student’s mastery of the course content. Answers will be provided at the end of the quiz so that the student can review his/her answers.

 

Final Examination

 

A final examination is required for all continuing education courses. DRE regulation specifies that “under no circumstances may final exams be furnished to students.”  Students may request a convenient date and time for the final examination and may also “suggest” the proctor or entity to administer the final examination. Final designation and approval of final examination administrator and determination of date and time is the sponsor’s responsibility.  Students may choose the option to take the final exam online. The final examination is open book.  The final examination will consist of a combination of 15 ‘multiple-choice’questions and no more than 10% of those will be true/false questions on Risk Management, Agency, Trust Funds, Ethics, Fair Housing.With the Real Property Ownership Tax Benefits exam,there will be 70 multiple choice questions with no more then 10% of  those as true/false questions. In order to pass the examination the student must receive a 70% or better.  All final examination question answers can be found in the textbook and therefore is a clear way of assessing student’s knowledge.  The final examination shall not be taken by participants until completion of instructional portion of the offering to which the examination applies. Participants taking a correspondence offering shall be limited to completion of final examination for that offering for a maximum of fifteen credit hours during any one 24 hour period.

    

Final Examination Information

 

Form of Identification Accepted

 

A participant shall present one of the following forms of identification immediately before the administration of the final examination for correspondence offering

(a) A current California driver’s license

(b) A current identification card described in Section 13000 of the California Vehicle Code

(c) Any identification of the participants issued by governmental agency or recognized real estate related trade organization within the immediately preceding five years which bears a photograph, signature and identification number of the participant

(d) For the internet final examination, the participant needs to sing (click) a declaration under penalty of perjury and provide the identification number before the examination to proof the identity.

 

Final Exam on Paper

 

Students will fill out the “Request For Examination Form” to have the test mailed to his/her designated test administrator OR come into our office during regular office hours to take the exam. 

 

Final examinations for correspondence course may be administered  by a proctor designed by Sponsor who is not related by blood, marriage, domestic partnership or any other relationship , i.e. future  employing broker, to the participant taking the examination which might reasonably influence them from properly administering the exam. The proctor must certify in writing that they have complied with all examination rules during the administration of the examination.

 

The certificate of completion will be mailed, faxed or emailed to the student within 15 day   after the student successfully pass the examination

 

Final Exam Online

 

You may take the final exam online test by registering at A-1 School.Com.  Only the student who is registered for the course is allowed to take the final exam. Cheating, by allowing someone other than yourself to take the exam, may result in suspension, revocation, or other penalties.

 

 On completion of the final exam, results will be available online instantly. Upon successful completion (70% or higher), a certificate will be issued to you online that you can print or save to print at later time.  If you do not pass the exam the first time, you may retake the final exam a second time. The questions will not be the same a the first exam. If you do not pass the second time, you must pay and retake the correspondence course again.

 

The Final Exam CANNOT be printed or downloaded and can only be assessed once. After the allotted time period, your exam session will expire and be graded as is.

 

 For the final online examination, the participant need to sign by clicking a declaration under penalty of perjury and provide the identification number before the examination to proof the identity.

Completion Certificate

 

Upon course completion and successfully passing the final examination, each participant is provided a course Completion Certificate within 15 days from the date of completion or you can print out from internet.
